The Bible:
The Bible is our fixed star in theology because all Scripture, verbal and plenary is inspired of God and His inspiration secures the truth and accuracy of His Word. It is the standard against which all human thoughts are measured; therefore it is authoritative in all matters of life, faith and practice.
God:
God is the Creator of the Universe. He is One in essence, yet He exists in three separate but equal persons co-existing throughout eternity: God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit who form the Trinity or the three-in-one. God is infinite and perfect in all His attributes, therefore absolute morality is derived from His character.
Virgin Birth and Deity of Jesus Christ:
Born of a virgin, as to His human nature was a descendant of David; who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. He is the second person of the Trinity. Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God.
The Condition of Man:
Man was created in the image of God but by an act of the will, man departed from the absolute morality of God. Adam’s disobedience of God caused the entire human race to be affected by the sinful nature. Man is thus separated from the holiness of God and cannot erase his sin or earn God’s favor through good deeds. He is desperately in need of a savior.
Substitutionary Atonement and Salvation:
The penalty of sin is death. God placed that penalty on His Son Jesus Christ; He was crucified and His blood was shed on the cross. He died in the sinner’s place: the sinless for the sinful; and His sacrifice is the satisfactory payment for man’s sin. Jesus Christ alone is God’s provision for man’s salvation from sin and death.
Whereas salvation is a free gift of God, it requires human response by (1) repentance toward God and (2) trust in the Person of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When people are justified by God’s grace through faith of the heart, the moral perfection of Jesus Christ is imputed to their record in heaven. The visible evidence of true conversion is a Christ-like life. As the converted people continue in repentance and deepen their trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit empowers them to lead a godly life.
Bodily Resurrection and Return of Christ:
Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead on the third day and he appeared to His disciples. He ascended into heaven, from where He will return to earth in the same manner as He was seen in His ascension.
Eternal Blessing and Eternal Punishment:
Those people who are truly converted to Christ are regenerated by the Holy Spirit; to them, God promises the blessing of eternal life. On the contrary, rejection of the truth, unbelief and denial of the Lordship of Jesus Christ are not only tragic ignorance but also willful disobedience to clear light which will result in eternal punishment.
