Small Groups

WELCOME!

Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" (Matthew 18:20, NRSV).

Lives are formed and transformed in small groups when people meet together to pray, to study, to engage in fellowship, or to work on a specific task.

What is a Small Group?

They are a group of believers who have banded together for a season in life to reach the lost, minister to the hurting and each other, and in time, discover their leadership potential. Included in small groups are people who are seeking to be closer to God and to each other.

Relationships are the main focus in a small group, with bible study, prayer, and evangelism to follow. Whereas, a Bible Study’s main focus is studying God’s word, prayer, evangelism and in time, relationships may or may not develop.

A small group allows the flexibility to invite your family, friends and neighbors to sit in on a study in a relaxed setting or participate in a selected activity outside the groups regular meeting time. Things like asking people over for dinner, shopping together, playing games, going to events, attending each other’s kids ballgames, helping on projects… the list is unlimited and it’s what your group makes it.

Time spent together is key to moving along deeper with Christ. Time spent with unbelievers opens their heart and eyes to see that God desires their heart. Just listen to this summary statement about the first church and what they focused on in Acts 2:42-47: “Every day they continued to meet together… And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

Then, consider Jesus. He lived with His disciples and saw them in their good moments and the bad. Somehow, in those 3 years of intensive relational interaction with them, they were prepared to carry out an incredible ministry that literally turned the world upside down! That is the power of the relational ministry of Small Groups. You may be leading people to the Lord, helping to form Christ in them and in one another.
